What does our vision of being the Premier University of African Scholarship mean when reflected upon in relation to our mission of being innovative in research, our pillar of transformation and our goal of targeted internationalization, for example? The idea is to address the 16 standards against the backdrop of who we say we are, what we are about and what we are doing. How do we exhibit REACH-T values when it comes to our research and what types of quality management systems assure quality research?
How do we design and conduct research to ensure a sustainable future for local communities – using local knowledge? How do our ways of knowing and co-creating knowledge ensure a sustainable future for the South African Development Community as well as Vision 2063 pronounced by the African Union?
What examples can you provide regarding how we are contributing to the global pool of knowledge through our impactful research?
When completing the template presented to the Research Cluster of the CWGs, consider the extent to which a certain research policy or research procedure has been communicated to, and is clearly understood by, all stakeholders. When addressing standards 5 to 12 reflect upon and respond about the extent to which our quality assurance practices are embedded within the institutional culture. In what ways are our quality assurance practices seen as an integral part of the institution’s approach to the conduct of its core academic activities, such as impactful research?
