Welcome to the Institutional Audit
as Reflexive Praxis

Institutional Profile Working Group

The institutional profile establishes the history and contemporary context of UKZN. It is the first part of the SER and supporting portfolio of evidence (PoE). The institutional profile is integral for the SER and PoE as it sets the stage for where we stand as a University. It demonstrates the extent to which we have executed our Strategic Plan 2017 to 2021 and achieved our vision, mission, goals, enablers and other benchmarks that we set for ourselves. This includes a self-reflective narrative on the context of each of the campuses and sites of delivery. The IA does not entail comparing universities to each other as do rankings. Rather, we are being judged against the plans and goals that we set for ourselves.

The purpose of the Institutional Profile Working Group, appointed by the Steering Group, is to provide a holistic reflexive narrative and graphic summaries in the institutional profile that will be used as a context for the SER and PoE. The bulk of the data will be made available by the Institutional Profile Working Group and will be provided electronically through hyperlinks or screen-prints as well as in the PoE.

The institutional profile is further comprised of a statistical overview of the information, compiled with reference to information available from data the University itself generates and maintains, as well as from HEMIS, the CHE, SAQA, and the DHET, as well as other reputable sources.
